@drdrewprovan: Acute leukaemias are very serious and must be treated immediately. Does this make them more or less curable? #haematology #acuteleukaemia #chronicleukaemia #leukemiacure #fyp

Would you say APL is the most curable type of leukaemia? I’d love more info on that

When people say people can live a normal life with CML that makes me angry. Having cancer the rest of your life is not a normal situation.

I asked you in a live once if basophils of 1.9x10e9/l were concerning and you said not really. But now Im having a bone marrow biopsy and being tested for CML. So Im curious why you didnt consider it concerning? Genuine question.

Is a bone marrow biopsy safe? Is there any risk that the biopsy could cause cancer cells to spread to other parts of the body?

My husband has hairy cell leukaemia. I always remember the consultant saying that “you’ll likely live with it rather than die from it … a bit like herpes”. I’m not sure you’re supposed to laugh as much as we did x

I already told you my son was diagnosed at 17 (now 22) he had so trouble with the medication, was allergic to it had horrendous rashes which covered his whole body at one stage. He's on 3rd line now and so far doing ok. Hope to get him to remission but the future is unsure because of his age if he can come of Tx or needs to continue. He wasn't unwell before it.. no signs or warning, just collapsed at school-ambulance and bloods were lit up like Xmas. We were told another few weeks without knowing we could have lost him to it.

My husband has CML with a KM2TA mutation. A combination that MSK and MD Anderson hasn’t seen before. Hes 38. TKI failed and it went in to blast crisis. They knocked it down with intensive chemo and immediately moved to his BMT where he currently is

Chronic is harder to cure, but definitely offers better options for treatment. CML has multiple oral treatment treatments called TKI.
