Having multiple layers in the cold is WAY better than one thick layer because once you start sweating you either have to remove the whole jacket or just let your sweat absorb into the material making it way less effective multi-layer coats are PEAK

I grew up in the 70’s & 80’s we had these snow coats where the zipper went up so far often kids would get their skin caught in the zipper

It’s clearly that people don’t buy actual coat jackets anymore. They buy thin af jackets that are meant just for looks. People all the time at work would ask why my jacket is so big. I’m like it’s not, it just actually keeps me warm. Now all my coworkers dont ask and have bigger jackets
