The Kremlin walls, the wide avenues, the metro stations that somehow outclass most palaces, the winter that actually means it, the sheer weight of the place when the light goes flat. It functions at a scale that does not apologize. The food is heavy when it wants to be, the nights run late, the city keeps moving whether the weather cooperates or not. It is whatever. White Russians and the broader white European populations that have treated the city as their civilizational claim have a long practice of narrating Moscow as the finished expression of their continuity. The architecture, the literature, the imperial residue, the assumption that this particular skyline proves something unique about who built and therefore owns the story. Same pattern as the rest of the continent: take the labor, the earlier layers, the later contradictions, and write themselves in as the authors. Whatever. The squares still hold. The trains still run. The skyline still does the thing it was designed to do. One can stand there and register that it is imposing without needing the full lecture on who supposedly authored every stone and every myth. Moscow remains heavy and operational. The people who most insist they invented that weight keep talking. One notes both. The rest is noise.
