@asj358243wq: "5 Things You Should Never Say in Prayer! Otherwise, You May Block God's Answer! No answer to your prayers? I found that the easiest thing to go wrong is not praying too little, but saying a few wrong things without even realising it. Today I want to share these 5 things, hoping everyone can avoid the wrong turns I once took. First, I used to put conditions in my prayers, making it sound like I was doing business with God. In the past, when I prayed for my career and marriage, I always said: “Lord, if this is Your will, then let things go smoothly for me.” It sounded humble, but deep down, I was leaving myself a way out. 3 John 1:2 says: “Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.” God's desire is for us to prosper. What I should do is obey God's word to the end and leave the rest to Him, not treat Him like someone I need to negotiate with. Second, I used to put myself down in prayer and thought this was humility. I have said: “Lord, I am just a sinner. There is not much hope for me.” When I said this, I thought I was being very humble, but actually I was denying what Jesus had already done for me. He has already forgiven my sins, become my sin offering, and given me the chance to repent. So now when I pray, I remind myself—I am a new creation, not someone who keeps talking about my old identity. What I should pursue is repentance, not constantly denying the salvation God has already given me. Third, I used to doubt that God was listening. When I was troubled in my heart, I said: “Lord, You are not listening to me at all.” 1 John 5:14 says: “If we ask any thing according to his will, he hears us:” Later I understood that it was not that God was not listening, but that I was not patient. He heard me. He was just often quietly working where I could not see. Fourth, I used to keep asking God why He was taking so long. “God, why has it taken so long and You still haven't answered?” I said this more than once. Romans 8:28 says: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God.” Later I learned that even when things don't happen according to my timetable, I can still trust that God's plan is complete. It is not late; it is just right. Fifth, I used to say things with a threatening tone. “God, if You don't help me, I will find a way myself.” After reading that sentence, I actually felt uneasy, because I was telling God—I have a backup plan. You can step aside. In Exodus 33:15, Moses said to God: “If your presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.” I learned from Moses—depend completely on God, don't keep a backup plan for myself, and let Him lead me every step of the way. I changed these 5 things one by one, and only then did I realise that prayer is not about becoming longer or more fancy. It is about becoming more honest. If what I shared touched you, please put “Amen.” And share this with the first person God puts in your mind.
