Should have made sure the heater worked prior to installing and definitely before the cold weather came . . Also a little tiny wood stove is always the best way to go ! Cut a few trees and split it up nice and small and pack it away . Always have heat with a wood stove !

Weakness is not asking for help. It's not knowing when you need to.

I admire you toughing it out. most people don't know what cold is. Glad you got to see the northing lights. In that environment I would have a back up heater for my back up heater for my back up heater. Good luck young lady

I'm not sure where you're at. But I mean, in the country, or whatever country just ask people, they're more than willing to help, and it will be way cheaper than you think, I would install that for less than a 100 us$ and you would be set.

Since as a young child, I grew up backpack, hiking, and camping, even in the winter and then later in life motorcycle camping and then even later in life driving a tractor trailer even up into the Yukon, I always knew to have gear with me that was for the environment. That would keep me alive, even if I had to leave my vehicle behind and had to sleep outside. Many people do not realize that what the outside temperature is compared to what the inside temperature is of an unheated vehicle may be a lot colder in the vehicle as it actually acts like an ice box like how it acts like an oven in the summer heat and sunshine. Please be safe and know you’re environment.

Put one layer under her bedding or under the mattress area to reflect some heat back upward.
* Put one over her blankets, or between blanket layers, to help hold her body heat in.
* Attach sheets to the inside of the van, especially over the windows and larger exposed wall/door areas, to reduce radiant heat loss.
The biggest payoff will usually be covering the windows and using one around the sleeping area rather than just laying one flat under a sheet. $15 for 15 sheets on Amazon
