We gave all team members a $2,500 end of year bonus and did a team lunch. We do raises on their anniversary and cost of living adjustments. We do have quarterly bonuses for our team also. We have a small team of 25 but try to take care of them throughout the year.

I was a custodian for many years. I stopped going to employee appreciation gatherings bc I was expected to clean up. That’s not appreciating me. That’s just adding to my work load.

I’ve always said this. Divide whatever you were planning to spend on the party amongst all the employees. We spend all day with these people, most of us don’t want to hang out outside work hours.

The last office I worked for literally had a 20,000 Christmas party for other offices that referred to them. Our “party” was an office gathering where we had to cook the food and bring it in. And the kicker? We got 25.00 for our Christmas gift. But yet there’s no money for raises. 🤣

Exactly, I spend a lot of hours there I don’t want to spend a day off with co-workers breaking bread I rather go out to dinner with my family.

Cost of living isn’t a raise.. A raise is when the company calls you in and says you are a great employee you go the extra mile and you hardly ever call off we are going to bump your pay up more then the cost of living increases

😡Working at one large Canadian chain store, they wanted us to have potluck dinners PLUS pay like $5-10 extra for what the "company paid for"... drspite us ALREADY PAYING A COMPANY EVENT FEE from our paychecks!🤬

Luckily we get raises every year, and I've been able to question and ask for more than what they were going to give me. And we still get a card with cash or a gift basket every Christmas along with a Christmas party with buffet and open bar.. I might have lucked out at this company. boss even gets nice custom watches made for every person who reaches the 10 yr mark.
