I agree with all of these and would add one more, which I was very guilty of as a trainee: constantly saying "yes" and taking on more work than you can realistically fit into your schedule. sure, it can feel like you’re showing initiative and being a team player, but if you end up missing deadlines, burning yourself out or producing lower-quality work, it backfires. sometimes being a good employee means knowing when to say no

Re working while sick: making a mistake because you don’t feel well looks 100% worse than taking the sick day. I once came in even though I had raging ear infection and caused an outage because the pain was distracting 😫
