The offences took place over an eight-year period between 1993 and 2001 against a single young victim. The court heard Miller subjected the child to repeated sexual and indecent assaults on no fewer than ten separate occasions, culminating in the rape of the victim when she was just 12 years old. The victim came forward to report Miller’s offending to South Wales Police in 2023, prompting a comprehensive historical safeguarding investigation. Following a Crown Court trial, Miller was found guilty on 10 September of rape of a female under 16, five counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14, and two counts of gross indecency with a girl under 14. The judge handed Miller a special custodial sentence comprising 16 years in prison and an extended one-year licence period. He must serve at least two-thirds of the custodial term behind bars before being considered for parole, alongside an indefinite restraining order, a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and lifetime sex offender registration.
