Not going to step off the train if there’s a line of people pushing to get on, people have no decency here and they will shove their way on and leave no space for you to get back on. I’ve seen it happen too many times. Given that, I try my best to avoid being near the door when the train is crowded so I’m not on other people’s way.

When I first moved here to NYC, I didn’t know until and old man got on the train and told everyone at the door to move to the center of the train, and I’ve had ppl, to ask me to remove my bag when it was super crowded! I just didn’t know! Now that I know better, I do better!

i was born here and I used to do this until people kept stealing my spot every time i did this. i had to adapt to their rudeness by shifting in my spot to allow easier egress but not abandoning it by fully stepping off

I will say it PMO when people get up to try to get ready to get off the train before we even stop at a major station where you know a ton of people will also be getting off. Like “excuse me excuse me” maam it’s union square if u wait 2 seconds there will be space to move about the cabin
