Survivors can use perks to gain a burst of speed when running from the Killer or to heal themselves, while Killers can use perks to see Survivors through walls or hinder their progress. These perks, along with items and add-ons, are unlocked through a skill tree called the Bloodweb. Since its launch, Dead by Daylight has grown through numerous downloadable content (DLC) chapters. It is notable for its extensive roster of licensed characters from iconic horror franchises, including Halloween, Saw, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Stranger Things, Silent Hill, Hellraiser, and Resident Evil, alongside a large cast of original characters with their own intricate backstories.
