Sir Yorkie :
I’m Polish and I stopped going to the woods at night some 20 years ago because of few extremely disturbing encounters. Even 20 years later it still petrifies me

Poland has Nocnica (female demon walking at night), Szyszymora (polish Banshee) or Strzyga (Strigoi, hunting for newborns at night)

The land here is old. There are things in the woods that are older than the woods itself. Poland also has a very wide folklore.

It's too well written, so I presume it's a short story? Regardless, it's clearly Białowieża Forest Park

Wiły or Samodiwy, Beautiful, naked, pale female demons with light hair who danced in the woods at night and could kill any man who caught a glimpse of them.
