@isitcapitalism: Social democracies are NOT the left. They are schemes to prolong capitalism through the use of neoliberal imperialism. It is a brutal system that artificially depresses southern wages, destroys the land, and dumps the waste on the shores of the marginalized. All of it to provide bread and circuses for the alienated northern worker. Your comfort, your average way of living, comes off the backs of the Global South. That consumption is UNSUSTAINABLE, and any real liberation movement has to account for its degrowth. If that threatens you, kindly check your privilege. If not, as history has shown, northern workers are quick to side with capitalists against liberation movements in order to protect their comfort within the imperial core. Exactly like Mamdani, AOC, and Bernie. Oppose ALL forms of capitalist reform and embrace the scientific socialist revolution. EXACTLY. The scandinavian countries aren't exempt from the criticisms of capitalisms. Their "social democracy" is propped by the exploitation of people in the Global South.

Måns Mattisson :
As a Swede, I 100% agree and just wanted to add another thing about why social democracy is temporary. It can only exist as long as capital itself dosnt have the power to influence the people. Capital accumulation will eventually lead to the slow erosion of the social democratic state until it becomes just like all the other neoliberal states. The Nordics are seeing this firsthand quite clearly because we actually have the systems that can be eroded. Over the past 40 years, social democratic states have been slowly hollowed out, with their systems and structures morphing into a state that is only interested in capital interests.
For example, Sweden first allowed private companies to run schools, and later allowed these companies to profit from them, despite still being funded by taxes, and the list goes on. While I still believe that electoralism and socialist reform could work, transitioning Sweden through social democratic reform into democratic socialism isn't an unachievable goal, especially considering how close we were in the 1970s. However, I can't really see a revolution taking place in any Western state today. The structures of centralization and the control of capital and power have shifted so much that the only way I see a revolution becoming possible is when it is already too late.

I live in a nordic country, I tell my mom abt all the exploitation of workers in other countries, and she says "they get paid" no they don't, they r slaves. I tell her to stop using temu because of how predatory it is, and she has the audacity to say that "if I dont buy from there the workers wont get paid" she is funding slave labor and is proud of it, it's crazy how people r still okay w/ exploitation if they aren't ones that get exploited

I completely agree with you but the way to get to Socialism is through baby steps or dictatorship. People aren't going to vote for a system they don't understand. It's about giving them bit by bit and educating people that this is a taste of what Socialism looks like.
I appreciate your content and learned a few things, thank you.

agreed. no form of capitalism is ethical. it's just not because in order to have exponential wealth that continues to grow, which is what capitalism is you have to be exploiting somebody somebody is going to be hurt and dismantled in the process of building someone else's wealth. socialism is the only way forward in order to ensure that a mass majority of people are taken care of and then eventually we move into communism. there has to be a stepping stone for sure, but that stepping stone is socialism full-blown socialism which is exactly what China is trying to do. yes, they started out as a capitalist society because they knew they had to grow the economy. then they started implementing more and more social outcomes for people to be able to grow their own personal wealth and their own personal Harmony and eventually by 2030. their goal is to be a fully communist country

Even more so, Nordic countries are meant to be this “sustainable” haven that cares about the environment. But in reality since there is so much consumerism in them. The average person pollutes around 3-4 times more than they’re supposed to.

in a way the issue is assuming an equal world will have mass produced consumer goods rather than handcrafted or more artisan based costly labour all across.
