Two nights ago my dad was on his deathbed. I sat with my mom and was so upset. My mom asked me if there’s anything I wished I knew or something that I wished my dad had told me. I said I hope I made him proud. She said I know he’s proud of you. My dad woke up a bit later. The nurse asked him if he knew who I was and he said “my son Ben”. The nurse said how do you feel? My dad whispers “proud”. My dad could not have heard that conversation my mom and I had. Another example of God answering my prayers and I didn’t even ask.

I lost my dad 3 years ago, and I’m still doing my best everyday just trying, hoping I’m making him proud. I miss him so much, I’m still learning from him even tho he’s gone 😔

I have a blended family, I never call them my stepsons, I always say they’re my sons! Oldest is 8 youngest is 5. Took my family out and my oldest son asked me for ice cream so I took him inside the shop and grabbed it for him because he couldn’t reach, I hand it to him, he smiles at me, and says “thank you dad” I cried Immediately. At that moment I felt proud of myself, l didn’t care if I made mine proud anymore. I love my sons and my daughter, as long as they’re proud of me that’s all I need.
