the body is still alive and biologically she is Kiris mother so it would be a bit cruel to kill her while Kiri is around? What I wonder though is what did happen to Jakes human body. Did it die or is it on a coma somewhere

Do yall watch the movies at all? They kept her body because she was pregnant and the pregnancy was actively progressing even tho she was technically dead. They kept her body so kiri would be born, and they hold onto the hope grace is still alive because clearly she has to be in some form to have given birth.

Avatars are so expensive to make that they would never just throw that away. Hence why Jake was hired on to use his brothers avatar instead of just throwing it away even tho he wasn’t trained!!

Grace's avatar is a "coma," because she was too weak to go through the "eye of Eywa." I think maybe she could come back if she might try again and Eywa allows it to happen. Because her avatar never died. I think there's a plan behind it somehow. Even if it could be "dangerous" for believing in Eywa when she comes back.

Grace's avatar is still alive. Maybe they're keeping her alive in hopes they find a way to bring Grace back fully, just my theory but i hope we will get an explanation in the future movies. Or they just kept it there for Kiri

they could possibly be keeping the avatar in stasis to monitor for potential health complications that could affect kiri or jake given that both are hybrids, so going off of strictly navi or human physiology wouldn't work for them. for example the may notice that Grace's avatar is aging at a slower rate than the humans, but faster than a navi.

I'd imagine that it's prolly so Kiri can see her mother and it seems like Grace's avatar is still functional so it wouldn't make sense to bury a living thing.

in the movie you can literally see the scene of Kiri climbing on the pod to visit her mom. she constantly visits her just to see her mom. that’s just one of the reasons: why wouldn’t they keep a huge investment and data bank, especially when it’s someone’s mom that is technically still alive, just unoccupied. you can’t even begin to imagine how much valuable data they get from getting to study the first natural-avatar birth in general, and also the first asexual natural-avatar baby, from a HUGE billion-trillion investment, and again, someone’s mother. there’s a lot more benefits to keeping the avatar than just killing it
