Start delegating responsibilities to your kids if 4 have driver licenses. They can help a lot !! That’s what I did. It works and also teaches your children real life struggles . Don’t feel bad about it.

My dad always told me if I was responsible enough to have a car, I was responsible enough to keep up with the oil changes and the tags… the kids need to make sure they’re getting their oil changes

No, Mom… If they are old enough to have their own car, then they can take care of it themselves. You can help them get ready and put everything in their own name and if you have a little bit of money, you can help them pay for their first month of car insurance or whatever but they absolutely need to be able to do that themselves if they own their own car.

Seen post someone will make you a spreadsheet but also begin to include your 4 children who have driver license to be responsible for their car maintenance (of course oversee that they are following thru….) but will teach them responsibility and life skills…best wishes

At this point your children are young adults. Part of owning/driving a car is taking care of the car. Make them responsible for general maintenance like oil changes.

As a single mom who never had much money, you have to start cutting out all of the expenses that are unnecessary. If your kids want a car, they pay for the car and the insurance. If they want a phone they pay for the phone and the phone bill. If they want expensive clothing, they need to get a job and pay for it. You only have to provide the necessary necessities. It's going to take some lifestyle adjustments, but you can do it.

This happened to me, Dad left and Mom was left with a lot to handle. I had to step up and your kids need to as well. Unfortunately, their lives are different now and they need to take responsibility for their own things. Obviously ask you for advice but they need to sort it out themselves. You’re a single mom now and it’s such a hard job. I hope you’re okay. 🫶🏻
