@casuallybengali: At some point, we have to stop asking what side someone is on and start asking what happened to our humanity. A child in pain doesn’t become more or less deserving of compassion because of a border, a belief, a flag, a political opinion, or the part of the world they were born into. Their fear is still fear. Their suffering is still suffering. Their parents’ heartbreak is still heartbreak. You shouldn’t need to share someone’s religion, nationality, politics, or way of life to care about what happens to them. And if seeing innocent people suffer no longer moves us, maybe the problem isn’t our differences.
