@felidaecentre: 🦁🌅 Jabu: 10 years old, and king of his own little world. ❤️ This is Jabu, our 10-year-old male lion, enjoying one of those peaceful afternoons in our 180-hectare enclosure, surrounded by his pride of seven. 🦁🦁 As the sun begins to set over the Karoo, there’s something incredibly special about watching lions simply being lions, walking, resting, interacting with their pride and taking in their surroundings. 🌿 Did you know? Lions are highly social big cats and live in family groups called prides. The pride provides companionship, protection and opportunities for social interaction. A male like Jabu plays an important role in the pride, helping to protect the group and its territory. And this is exactly what makes a volunteer experience at Felidae so special. ❤️ Imagine standing in the Karoo as the sun disappears over the landscape, hearing lions communicating across the enclosure and watching these magnificent animals living their lives just a few metres away. 🐾 180 hectares of space. 🦁 A pride of seven. 🌅 One unforgettable sunset. Come volunteer with us and experience the magic of getting to know our rescued animals while helping with their daily care, enrichment and wellbeing. Sometimes the best moments aren’t the loud ones… they’re the quiet afternoons spent watching a lion like Jabu enjoy the sunset with his family. ❤️ #FelidaeCentre #JabuTheLion #Lion #AfricanLion #LionPride
