She explained that her husband had stopped speaking to her for almost two months and had also stopped sending her his usual allowance. She told me that he had changed and was no longer the person he used to be. Before giving advice, I wanted to understand what had happened. As she shared more of her story, I began to understand why her husband had become so distant. She admitted that she had repeatedly spoken to him disrespectfully, behaved badly towards him and said things that deeply hurt him. But she also realized her mistakes and genuinely wanted to change. She was ready to do whatever she could to repair the marriage. I decided to speak with her husband as well. He spoke to me calmly and respectfully and explained his side of the story. I was honestly surprised by some of the things I heard and saw. I asked him to forgive her, especially because she had recognized her mistakes and wanted to change. He agreed to try. He contacted her, just as he had promised me. But after everything that had happened, he told me that he could no longer continue the marriage in the same way. He said that he had tried, but he could no longer give her the love and respect he once had for her as his wife. When I spoke to the woman again, she accepted the outcome. She admitted that her own actions had played a major role in what happened and accepted the consequences. 💭 My reminder to every sister and brother: No matter how angry or hurt you may feel, be careful with your words and your behavior towards your spouse. Repeated disrespect, insults and hurtful behavior can create wounds that are not always easy to repair. Sometimes we only realize the value of something after we have pushed it too far. Marriage requires Sabr (patience), respect, communication, forgiveness and humility. When problems come, try to talk, listen and correct your mistakes before the situation becomes too difficult to repair. And remember: Allah tells us to be patient and to do what is right.
