to find h you can just use the pythagoras theorem where 25^2 - 7^2 is equal to x^2 (h+7) which gives 576, square root is 24, 24 - 7 is 17. much easier than quadratic formulae or anything else

Would've made it possible to solve if 8 was labeled as the radius of the circle rather than assuming and having some sort of labeling that established the quarter circle as actually being a quarter circle.

Why on earth did you not use pythagorean theorem again to obtain the 17? Zero need for factoring a quadratic there.

I hated long processes like this so I took that weird any length measuring tool that looks like the barbershop 💈 thingy, made the measurement looked close to the 7 length, and then just measured from there to get the total areas and then just subtracted the easier parts from there
