@iamdavidchristiansen: Most people think Halloween is just about costumes and candy... but its roots go all the way back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain It's wild how many of our modern Halloween traditions come from this! Share this with a friend who loves Halloween but hasn't heard the deeper story. And follow along this month as I dive into Samhain's history, rituals, and how to align with the season for your spiritual growth. #pagansoftiktok #halloween #samhain #wheeloftheyear

Adam B :

unfortunately it was never ment to be Halloween it was always samhain it was just rebranded as a profitable thing i won't accept Halloween after when I found out how they coverd it all up and the dark history of pagans and Christians

Bláthnaid :

samhain is an ancient GAELIC festival . it was a specifically Irish. calling it Celtic is misleading.

💜Sabrina.C80👿 :

It's pronounced "Sow-In" .It's the death of summer and the beginning of winter. We would extinguish our own fires and go to the bonfire and relight them from the bonfire for protection. The costumes were made from animal skin to blend in with the evil spirits. We would carve a TURNIP and place embers in it which would guard us from the evil spirits. We used divination to predict health and love life. We laid out a plate of food for the ancestors and lit a candle in the window to honour them. We told stories about them especially the first Samhain after their passing. We ate foods with bite, apples and things that were in season. Our customers for letting the old out and the new in are a bit more than what you are saying. All Souls Day is 2nd November which was a Catholic celebration started by Constantine so that he could trap the Celts into the Roman Empire. I don't celebrate Halloween, I celebrate Samhain. Winter is coming.

Samhain is a Festival that has been going on for well over 3000 years, Le Fheile na Marbh, the Festival of the Dead. The Tuatha De Dannan, The Gods and Goddesses, battle the forces of chaos, the Fomorians, on Samhain in the Second Battle of Moyturah (Cath Maigh Tuireadh).🙏
