If you grew up in the 90s, you definitely heard this song everywhere! From the 1994 film Mohra, the song “Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast” became one of the defining Bollywood songs of the decade. Raveena Tandon was only 19 when the film was made, and she completely owned this performance, being forever known as the “mast mast girl”. Mohra went on to become one of the biggest films of 1994, and its soundtrack sold more than 8 million copies. 30+ years later, those opening beats are still instantly recognisable. 90s Bollywood had some serious hits, but this one was on another level. And just listen to Kavita Krishnamurthy. Her vocals are a huge part of what makes this song so unforgettable, alongside Udit Narayan’s unmistakable voice. Music was composed by Viju Shah, with lyrics by Anand Bakshi, and the song was inspired by the traditional qawwali “Dam Mast Qalandar Mast Mast”. ********************************* ********************************* 🎬 Film: Mohra 🎶 Song: Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast 📅 Year: 1994 👤 Actors: Akshay Kumar & Raveena Tandon 🎤 Singers: Udit Narayan & Kavita Krishnamurthy 📣 Director: Rajiv Rai ✏️ Lyricist: Anand Bakshi 🎹 Music Composer: Viju Shah 💰 Music Label: Venus Records 🇮🇳 Language: Hindi, Tamil, Marathi & Telugu 🍿 Watch: Netflix, Jio Hotstar, ZEE5 & Prime 🎧 Listen: Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, JioSaavn, Deezer & Hungama Music 🌀 Genre: Bollywood, Romantic, Family, Drama, Musical, Action, Thriller #tucheezbadihaimast #bollywood90s #bollywooddance #raveenatandon #akshaykumar - @bollywood.chaii
