Comment below any recipes you’d like! 🌻 Some weeks the fridge looks like a barren wasteland, and there doesn’t seem to be much in season. Though I’m growing my own vegetables this year, nothing is ready to eat yet, so I’m trying to get creative with what I can find. Wild garlic season is my absolute favourite, so I’ll be making some pesto and preserving it in jars for future months to have with homemade pasta, especially my favourite silky handkerchiefs (thanks for the constant inspo @gennarocontaldo !). I’ll also be using up any old scraps of veg in pickles and ferments. And while I’m busy gardening, I’ll be relying on quick, easy dinners like burgers. That’s the thing with trying to eat local, seasonal food- month to month, your diet never looks the same. Sometimes there’s an abundance of one food to the point where you get sick of eating it, and sometimes it feels like there’s not much on offer at all. I’m learning it’s all about making the most of the season you’re in, and trying to enjoy it and saver it for future seasons when you’ll undoubtedly miss what you have now.
