She survived b/c her vein blew and it went into the muscle and it takes longer and slower to do what it does. Thats why Pike said her arm felt like it was going to explode

I am ginger and pale. 50% scottish and 50% irish. I had a spinal block not work, have to have nearly double the amount of painkillers than what is typical. Even local aneasthetics I usually need multiple injections.

She was telling them that it felt like pressure and something exploded, and then she had burning so obviously they had pushed it too quickly and blew out her vein and then instead of fixing her IV they just gave her a second dose!

Clearly her IV was no good, so her body is now absorbing the med slowly instead of directly to the blood stream. They don’t do IV’s often in the prison idk who is in charge of them during these times. But, they should def contract an ER nurse or something to start them. Someone who is very good at them lol

I don’t get why if they knew someone had problematic veins they wouldn’t just give a PICC or central line. Or why that’s not just the go to anyways, seems like it would be more effective and prevent these things
