I live between two lycées that are having a blocus and every time I walk home I'm scared of being hit with tear gas because of the extremely high doses they are spreading around

have to unfortunately point this one out (my sign), because my uni decided to let a convicted rpist come back despite being convicted. This is unfortunately due to the lack of teachers present

It’s worth adding that the government wants to raise tuition fees for university-level higher education and introduce tuition fees for preparatory classes and BTS programs, which used to be free. They want to cut the budget for the national education system. Many students are left without teachers even though they have the baccalaureate exam coming up an exam that, incidentally, will become more difficult to pass in the coming years since the government plans to make it more challenging. Raise the cost of access to education at a time when the prices of basic necessities are rising, diesel prices are increasing, healthcare budgets are being cut, and so on while parents aren’t seeing their wages go up and their children may no longer be able to access education as easily as before... In short, everything is being done to fuel the anger of young people who see no future prospects under these conditions.

and, out of “prevention”, for those who might say that school is more expensive in their country, or we could go to private schools and stuff, just know that the lowest salaries are taxed to 43%. 43% of taxes going straight to the government exactly to pay for school among others 🫶

Please keep speaking about France, make our gouvernement feel so ashamed that they can’t ignore our youth, everything is so expensive, we have no job and schools are a wreck, but the rich are richer everyday while we struggle so much

Thanks for spreading it, medias only talk about how children are violent meanwhile most of the « blocus » are peaceful before police arrive and children have to run only to breathe. We need all support anyone can give us

Thank you for that ! Also 1 truck full of those cops costs around 2000/3000€ while in some of those high schools don’t have enough chairs, tables for all students. Sometime there’s holes in the ceilings or leaks. Some fire extinguishers are missing. So when they tell us "there’s no money"…

It's important to counter the propaganda that keeps trying to call for facism [RN] under the guise of law and order

my university is just in front of a high school. we could hear the police shoot at them from our classrooms. when I had time between classes I went to help give them eye drops and they told me they got gassed at least 5 times. it wasn't even 11 AM.

The way people speak of and treat children nowadays scares me. The Swedish intellectual Ellen Key called the 20th century ”the century of the child”. So much progress was made. Now we are moving backwards. And fast. It is so very heartbreaking.

french person here, thank you sm for talking about it. I was a university student until last year, and I'm SO proud of everything students are fighting for rn cops are also sending messages to people on Snapchat pretending to be students to gain informations on the protests on a "funnier" note they're SO bad at it that they're discovered by the students immediatly ☠️

gen I was so tired doing 8am - 7pm while in the mean time I had teachers that were never there and not even replaced. A year, we got told "this is a fictional name, we don't have a teacher for your class" like sorry what !? I finished high school in 2023, it was already awful back then, I'm scared of how it is now. I'll defo be joining teens on the days I have enough time. They need all the support. We are not allowed to have proper education, this is not a democraty anymore. The future of a country is it's youth, giving proper education is a must.
