@taylorthehustlinmama: I spent 11 years building a “stable” nursing career. Good job. Reliable paycheck. Benefits. A career people respected. And then I had the absolute AUDACITY to leave it. 😂 People hear that and assume I must’ve hated nursing. I didn’t. I just realized that my definition of stability had changed. I didn’t feel stable when someone else controlled 40+ hours of my week. I didn’t feel free knowing the easiest way to increase my income was to work MORE hours. And after having 3 kids, I definitely didn’t want to keep building my entire life around a work schedule. So I learned digital marketing. I built something of my own. And eventually I was able to leave full-time nursing and be home with my babies while still earning my own income. Turns out the “risky” decision gave me something my “stable” career never could: ownership over my time.
