Today a young man walked out of ICE detention and back into the arms of his United States citizen wife. ❤️ Yes … you read that correctly. He is married to a U.S. citizen, and they have everything filed for their marriage. They have been working through the immigration process and doing everything “the right way.” Yet he was still taken and placed in ICE detention, separated from the woman he loves and the life they are building together. For weeks and months, families like theirs are left living with fear, uncertainty, and heartbreak even when they are following the legal process exactly as they are told to. This is something many people do not realize: being married to a U.S. citizen does not automatically protect someone from being detained. But today, after everything they endured, they were finally reunited. A wife able to hold her husband again. A family able to breathe again. Let this be a reminder: this can happen to anyone. Our neighbors, our friends, our coworkers, people who are doing everything they can to build a life here the right way. Today love, perseverance, and hope brought one more family back together. 🤍
