A lot of people don't realize that when Diesel price goes up absolutely everything goes up. I could be making more money owning the truck because of the rates. But at the end, I will spend all that extra money in everything else. That I gotta purchase.

People ask me how it’s hurting us with Trucks. I tell them I have two answers. I have the selfish answer which is it could go up more because I make more as it goes up. But my honest answer is it is a bunch of BS and overall it is hurting everything.

How do you explain to a customer u worked for the last 10-15 years that’s help build YOUR business that your parking your trucks. Big construction companies can’t stop for high fuel prices. Bite the bullet take bad times wirh the good. Or somebody might scoop up your work. I truly do see both sides. Very challenging times!

It’s already happening across Australia , I normally do five days a week on general freight ( mostly to the furnuex islands ferries ) for the last two months straight there hasn’t been enough freight for and more than 2 half days a week , no one can afford to buy anything , farmers are holding off buying necessities , when farmers are cutting right back everything gets cut back by default, times are as tough as I’ve ever seen them by far here, it’s a terrible time to be an owner driver in Tasmania
