I would definitely negotiate the pay. I'm in Detroit so I'm dealing with cold and warm weather and I make $2 less but I have recurring PTO which maxes at 370 hours, a thing called CTO which means I can choose not to use PTO if I want to take a day off and make up those hours throughout the week. a 401k, and health insurance. but I don't get that gas card or company van. so yeah, I'mma at least need renegotiate the wage

Nah. I make $34/hr, and have the same perks except I’m on call once a month. BUT I have unlimited PTO time, and i have vision and dental too covered by the company. So 🤷🏻♂️also I don’t work for private equity. It’s a mom n pop shop. They take care of us. 🤘🏻

I don’t understand why HVAC technicians don’t work for themselves instead of working for companies. You only need a few thousand dollars’ worth of tools and a license that you can get in two days for just a few dollars.
