@nourishingapothecary: A low AMH does not tell you the whole fertility story. Being told you have a very low AMH can be frightening, particularly when the conversation immediately becomes “you need to go straight to IVF.” AMH is important, but it primarily gives us information about ovarian reserve and how the ovaries may respond to stimulation. It is not a direct measure of egg quality, and AMH alone is a poor predictor of the likelihood of conceiving naturally. Age remains an important part of the fertility picture. And if IVF is the right path for you, preparation still matters. We are still working with your eggs and your partner’s sperm. That means I’m interested in the whole picture: your age, cycle and ovulation, nutrient status, metabolic health, lifestyle, sperm parameters and anything else that may be relevant before treatment. IVF and preconception care don’t need to be an either/or decision. Mel is one of our fertility naturopaths at Nourishing Apothecary and regularly supports couples preparing for natural conception and IVF alongside their medical fertility care. If you’re trying to conceive or preparing for IVF, you can book a free Find the Right Practitioner discovery call with our team. www.nourishingapothecary.com ##fertility##AMH##IVF##eggquality##tryingforababy
