I asked my local butcher about suet to purchase and he stated that he doesn’t sell suet but they do sell beef fat. And rendered beef fat. It’s probably how I take it but does that mean the fat he sells is not kidney fat and it’s the trimmings?

@5:16 Homestead I have only rendered lard and to try with suet for soap making. My question is from start to finish how is lost from rendering. Exemple you start with 10lbs, once rendered how much tallow is left. I want an average to know how much suet I should ask for. Knowing approx. how much is lost will give a me a starting point.
