Ok but one time I went through my whole plan of care (imaging, meds, etc) and the patient drops on me that he’s a retired cardiothoracic surgeon. He told me that he completely agreed with my plan of care and I’ve never been so flattered in my entire life

I work in obstetric, taught my patient how to formula feed and change diapers for their baby. Patient and husband sat there quietly and nodded through the whole thing. Found out patient is an NICU nurse in the same hospital at the end of my shift 🫠🫠🫠
