@4generationscreations: Meeting hate and white supremacy with this. 🧡 I am so incredibly proud to stand beside this group of strong Indigenous matriarchs. What started as a conversation between five Indigenous mothers turned into something so much bigger… our community showing up together, peacefully and powerfully, to remind everyone that we are still here. There is something powerful about Indigenous women coming together, organizing, protecting our families and standing up for our people. It feels like something we need to return to more often… our matriarchs leading, our communities gathering, and our culture carrying us forward. We didn’t meet hate with hate. We showed up with our faces uncovered. We brought our drums. We brought our songs. We brought our children, Elders, Survivors, dancers, riders, community members and allies. We stood together in unity and solidarity and surrounded by all of that love, culture and strength, hate looked very small. This is Secwépemcúl’ecw. We are still here. We have always been here. And hate has no home here. 🧡 So proud of these women. So proud of our people. So proud of our community 🥹🤲🏽. #215 #IndigenousMatriarchs #WeAreStillHere #kamloops
