37 years old, on my very first hunt a few days ago for whitetail deer. no one ever taught me. never been on a hunt with anyone ever before. taught myself how to shoot compound bow, and had really good grouping at 35 yd so decided to go out for a deer for my first time. had several doe' approach but only front-facing and just shy of my 35-yard range. didn't feel comfortable taking an unethical shot where it wasn't going to be clean. I may not have come home with a deer but I came home knowing I made the right choice.
