I’ve tried to make butter this way….. just use your mixer unless you need an hour workout for your shoulders. js

A faster way to culture the buttermilk is to take it out to the theatre then have tea downtown while discussing Shakespeare.

But heavy cream is super expensive to begin with. It’s much cheaper to just buy everything you were making.

My grocery delivery accidently sent a giant carton of heavy cream in my order. I was thinking that I'll never use that up before it spoils. Now I'm on a mission.

TruthSinger & Social Shaman :
we need to reconnect with the farmers in our area so we can get heavy cream that doesn't have the Shelf stabling additives without having to pay $10 for 8 oz. I love heavy cream because I'm always looking to lower carbs but so much of what's out there is fake, or mixed with non-heavy cream and sold as the real thing it's disheartening.

Didn't everyone else make butter like this in elementary school? We passed around the jar and everyone took turns shaking!

Culture the cream before making butter and you get cultured butter (!) and cultured buttermilk in one shot.

I’m scared letting dairy sit out at room temperature overnight. Is cultured a new name for spoiled?

I made clotted cream out of heavy cream in about an hour, not the 12 it normally takes. It was amazing too! Just YouTube Quick Clotted Cream.

for those who don't want to or cannot shake for 5 minutes, you can also do this in a mixer.

Make the crème fraiche first and then make the butter from that then you’ll have both cultured buttermilk and cultured butter
