GLP-1 prescribing is creating a new and growing source of administrative burden in primary care. The indications are expanding. Patient interest is increasing. These medications are expensive. And across Canada, private insurers are increasingly requiring prescribers to complete special authorization forms, sometimes repeatedly or annually, before patients can access coverage. I’m finding the volume of this paperwork increasingly difficult to absorb into clinical practice. I’m curious whether other primary care clinicians are seeing the same thing. If a medication is medically indicated and a patient’s insurance plan covers that therapy, why should accessing coverage require repeated physician paperwork? I also don’t want the solution to be simply charging patients more fees to complete forms their insurer demands. We need better regulation and much simpler processes. Private insurers should not be able to consume unlimited clinical time or create administrative barriers that interfere with timely treatment. Canada should be cautious about allowing private insurers to gain more influence over clinical decisions and access to care. This is becoming an issue of administrative burden, clinical autonomy, and patient access. What are you seeing in your practice? #FamilyMedicine #PrimaryCare #GLP1 #AdministrativeBurden #CanadianHealthcare
Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK): Flights are taking off and landing normally, though accumulated flight delays have been reported due to poor visibility and air traffic holding patterns during heavy rain bursts. #thailand #airport #flood #update
