I don’t even know how long a video takes you to make, but I hope you win awards for them.

The short answer, because it's cheap and it saves time and your average homeowner wants their home built fast. so they cut corners and reduce quality to make it built faster and cheaper while making big buck. That's why.
the beauty of capitalism.

we went from timber framing to stud and platform because it's easier to mass produce and make money off of. also you don't need to pay skilled carpenter rates to put up platform framing.

Ballon framing was more intended and still is used on the coasts to help with the winds from the ocean… it’s the same concept as skyscrapers when they “sway with the wind”

I've been a timber framer for about 8 years now, to see people liking it so much feels awesome. Here's a pic of a timber frame house I built 😁

When do they announce that OSB is too expensive and replace it with compressed straw? asking for a friend who may be a wolf

I don't even need to watch your video. We stop using big timbers, because we ran out of big trees. I'm a journeyman carpenter. They go over this in school to explain to everyone why we use engineered products now. Because we used up all the big timber and the stuff that's left is only used for very, very wealthy people's homes. Now.

I feel like it's just cheaper and cheaper. Requires less and less skills so no one is paid too much.
Why don't you build house to last for long ? Mine the owner doesn't really know but the 1630 on the front tells me it was not build with thin wood, glue and nails.
Make things last longer.
