This really was the standard experience pre-AI. It always ends with you asking a senior dev and you feeling stupid

I don’t know how, but somehow this TikTok ended up on the wrong side of TikTok lol because why did the men’s side find my video?? A lot of the comments are basically saying I’m a CS major and therefore I should automatically know every programming language, framework, CLI, and tool that exists. I’ve never claimed to know everything. I’m learning, experimenting with things I haven’t worked with before, and sharing the process. That’s literally what learning in tech looks like. I don’t get why people try so hard not to use ai when you’re getting the same information you would on any other website 1000x faster

Honestly, with my dyslexia, I was never able to call before. Now with it, I could just focus on specs and reading the problem. It’s a lot better for me.

Babe - app dev / software engineer of 10 years here. Best way to practice is watch YouTube tutorials and follow along!! Problem is due to ai a lot of the tutorials are a bit older (ie not a lot of no ai cooler app tuts) so there will be some discrepancies. Try working in the original code version the tuts are in. I worked in Flutter my whole career and am back in the stack you’re working in here and I actually really liked flutter and would recommend it for getting started. It’s a lot more manageable, simple and reliable. However depends if you’re learning this for school / a specific job re if you have a choice or not.

You’re doing amazing, especially when you’re learning and having fun, with or without AI.

Mannn thank you, choosing to learn and do manual work isn’t being selfish or looking to waste time, you are actively preserving human ingenuity. Ai doesn’t encourage deep understanding and the nuances a learning curves gives you.

one time it took me 3 hours to find a missing bracket and a colon. Genuinely wanted to walk into oncoming traffic

idk why people are so pressed about you not wanting to use it, like sure in a work environment it’s here to stay but a general understanding of what the AI is doing always helps 😭

Everyone keeps saying why avoid ai, but you still need fundamental and domain knowledge to get the most out of AI

just reading the error, it's trying to find a file or something with the name "electron." either the period shouldn't be there or you need a space. a period in a config file or command line generally means this current directory

Anyone ragging on you for this is just an a**! As someone who has been in this sh*t for 15 years you are always one character away from misconfiguring or even breaking something. You’ll get better at avoiding these issues but occasionally it will be a whitespace character and those are incredibly difficult to notice!
