I clean clients jet tubs with just 2 dishwasher tabs. I'll start it when I get there and let it run 30 mins or so.. then rinse down. fill with cold water, then let it cycle again. those tubs get SO gross if you don't do them regularly

I was a first time mom at 40. I’d had a house FULL of plants my entire adult life. I got rid of EVERY plant. I only had the energy to keep one thing alive at a time. But, that was just me. You go!!!

Pro tip: for plants that are still in a “from the store” container” and really dry, place a shallow cookie sheet in your sink. Fill it with water. Place the plants on the sheet. Leave them on the sheet for 3-4 hours. Do this once a week in lieu of watering the soil like you normally do. In likelihood they are not only dry, but root bound. Watering on a tray allows the water to gradually absorb top up (instead of bottom down). The plant retains the water better. And for the jade plant, that is WAY too much water. Succulents need drier, sandier soil. Too much moisture kills succulents. I also recommend repotting succulents every year or so. Replace soil with one that is specific for succulents (has some modest sand and perlite mixed in) .

jade plants need direct sunlight about half the day, looks like it might need a sunnier spot.

So I make sure all of my pots have holes in the bottom and I have an extra big dish that’s about 2 inches deep. I fill that with water and throw as many plants that can fit in it to bottom water. Then I can literally forget about them for the whole day if that’s what’s needed. Takes no time at all and I can focus on other stuff if needed.

if using city water you should fill up jugs and leave the lids off so the chlorine can dissipate. It’s kills house plants. Bottom watering works best too, keeps water off leaves. Are sure to pick up a little dirt to see if you’ve got any tiny creepers. I’ve got a lot of videos on my page of my jungle! Mine are all outside so I can soak them really good instead of soaking in a tub or sink. Drown them until they stop bubbling and leave alone for a month or two. Again, easier outside. Florida is kind to most plants.
