I bought an adapter for my computer so I could use dual monitors. One of the co-workers kept stealing the adapter without asking and later just put it on my desk. I had hard time finding out who was doing it. Eventually he took it to a meeting room and forgot it there. Only after he heard me complaining about it missing then he remembered where it was. It was really annoying and disrespectful

I HATE people touching my belongings, but thankfully two of my old managers at different workplaces had clearly stated to all staff (and reiterated it when new employees joined) that every staff member has their own work supplied desk, chair, computer, and stationery, and there should be no reason for anyone to be using someone else's space. They also clarified that any private belongings need to be labeled and kept on our desk/in the draws, and again, not used by anyone else, especially not without permission.

I had someone take my really nice pen off my desk when I went on break and when I asked for it back she tried to rudely say it was her’s. That’s when I pointed out it not only had mine and my husband’s business name on it but both our phone numbers and we had just gotten the box of them the day before and hadn’t given any away yet 🤣🤣

worked somewhere that I shared a desk with the over night shift... had a cute little box to put my personal stuff in and they had their own box to put personal stuff in. Also left notes for each other.

I got my chair and desk ergonomically set by a company doctor, so I could then have a sticker on it that said "Jay's Desk/chair, do not move or adjust". Kept people's gross fingers out of my workspace 😅

we call them hotel desks where I'm from and all desks are nearly the exact same (can raise to standing, double monitors, ext). if someone else used my assigned desk, I'd be mad too

hot desk is like hot racks, it's shared. subs do hot racks because of the limited space so 2 people share a rack to sleep in 12 hr shifts.

Isn’t there a cord for the table.? To make it work so you can adjust the hight.. if so, I would be taking the cable home with me every single day, put in in my car or in my locker.. if the standing is the thing..

My coworkers and I share a large group cubicle, but there's not enough space for all of us. We do use each other's desks as needed but you always, always leave it how you found it. For our work peer consulting and case discussion is very important so we want our work unit to be in the same general area. I find it so odd to be possessive over a work desk. We could all be fired tomorrow and our shit would end up in a box, and a new person would move in the day after that.
