@pinkchampagnethoughts: One thing I think more couples need to understand is that you can be upset with your partner and still respect them. đ€ Listen, youâre not always going to agree. Youâre going to have moments when somebody says something that rubs you the wrong way. Youâre going to misunderstand each other, get frustrated, and sometimes have conversations that get a little heated. Thatâs normal. Youâre two different people with different emotions, perspectives, and ways of communicating. But hereâs where I think we have to be careful⊠Donât let a temporary emotion make you publicly disrespect somebody you love. You donât have to embarrass your partner to prove youâre upset. You donât have to raise your voice so everybody around you knows youâre having a disagreement. And you definitely donât have to turn a private issue into a public conversation just because youâre frustrated in that moment. Sometimes the most mature thing you can say is, âWeâre going to talk about this, but weâre not doing it here.â And that doesnât mean the conversation is over. It doesnât mean your feelings donât matter. It simply means weâre going to give this conversation the privacy and attention it deserves. Because think about it⊠how many times have you said something out of anger that you wouldnât have said if you had taken a few minutes to calm down? And how many times have you been more focused on making your point than actually understanding what your partner was trying to tell you? Thatâs something BOTH people have to work on. One thing I really believe is that you shouldnât have to lose an argument for your relationship to win. Sometimes you need to stop trying to prove whoâs right and start asking, âWhat are we actually upset about? What am I not understanding? And how do we fix this without hurting each other in the process?â And if youâre in public and things start getting heated, itâs okay to say, âBaby, I hear you. Iâm not dismissing you. But letâs finish this conversation when we get home.â Then actually FINISH the conversation. Donât use ânot right nowâ as a way to avoid accountability. Donât shut your partner down, walk away, and act like nothing happened. If you say youâre going to revisit something, make sure you do. And hereâs another thing⊠protecting your relationshipâs privacy doesnât mean you canât talk to somebody you trust when you need support. Thereâs a difference between seeking genuine advice and intentionally embarrassing your partner in front of other people. Your friends and family donât need a front-row seat to every disagreement, but you should never feel like you have to hide mistreatment or handle something harmful by yourself. I also think itâs important to talk about these things BEFORE youâre in the middle of an argument. Have that conversation with your person. Ask each other: How do you want us to handle disagreements when weâre around other people? What helps you calm down when youâre frustrated? How can I let you know I need a minute without making you feel ignored? Those little conversations can prevent a whole lot of unnecessary hurt. And please remember, just because your partner is upset with you doesnât mean theyâve suddenly become your enemy. Youâre still on the same team, even when you donât see eye to eye. You can be angry and still be considerate. You can stand firm on your feelings without humiliating somebody. You can disagree without attacking each otherâs character. Because respect shouldnât only exist when everything is good between you. It matters just as much when things arenât. Protect each otherâs dignity, even in the moments when loving each other feels a little harder. đ€ Iâm curious⊠do you think couples should always wait until theyâre in private to address disagreements, or are there situations where something needs to be addressed right then and there? #HealthyRelationships #RelationshipTalk #fyp #RelationshipAdvice #couplegoals

Absolutely. She deserves to be heard, and he deserves to be heard too. But the audience isnât necessary. Relationships are built, repaired, and strengthened in private, not performed in public. Disagree with each other, not against each other.âïžđŸđ€
