Replace plumber with low volt tech and it’s a replay of last week… Turns out the low volt tech they kept kicking down the road is in charge of fire alarm. Good luck with that final since they instructed me to just cover the holes…

I've been to a site where they ordered dozens of high end hvac equipment as 3ph 460V for a building that was getting 3ph 230v. that was a rough start up when I pointed it out.

Good luck if your GC doesn’t have an MEP specific PM 😂😂😂😂. No one ever coordinates MEP’s correctly

The fault current study has nothing to do with what sparky blew up. Sparky should have megged his wires before turning the breaker on and verified torque settings. If he pulled his wires based of what the engineer put on the drawing, it’s not his fault. Sparky, don’t clean up your trash, that’s the GC’s job. Unless it’s big copper wire 😂

the coordination study is always wrong. sometimes it is just a naming convention wrong, sometimes you think the engineers were high when they made it.

Change orders!! And I guess this is based off plans and spec bids, not design build. Also, a good EC would have caught this during pathways.

Just happened to me - mechanical contractor substituted the units and never sent us the updated submittals.

Just had a submittal approved on a gear package "as noted". The note: Nothing is to be ordered until they send in a notorized letter with proof, stating that an onsite meeting between the mech, elect, plumb ect.. and that all MOP & MOCP has happened.

Had this happen before 😂 plans called for 3phase air handlers and single phase air handlers were installed. HVAC had to swap units and we had to pulled new wires and redo panels, big damn mess

Why is this such a problem on every job. What’s the point of submittals if the architect and engineer don’t actually follow up with the design changes.
