people overreacted to Supergirl it was just as good if not better than most of the MCU movies. let's be honest if it was a male-led superhero movie it would have done just fine. it wasn't the best movie but the Supergirl they portrayed is a strong character that I want to see more of!

For anybody looking for a cosmic flavored Green Lantern adaptation, definitely seek out the 2011 animated series! I’m loving Lanterns but binging GL: TAS has been a great way to pass the time between episodes.

For those disappointed by the show, not saying this derisively, but chill. This series is meant to be character focused. If you watch the series, the coming movies will be that much better because movies will inevitably make room for spectacle like what Guy does in Superman, but you now have a deeper understanding of the characters giving you that spectacle.

What cemented Hal and John’s relationship for me was when I realized the eulogy wasn’t a eulogy. It was a letter like his dad and grandfather wrote. And he left it for John because John is the closest thing to a son Hal has or will ever have.

I think it's a valid criticism to say they wish it was more fantastical, but I think also not everything has to be an overly CGI Blockbuster and sometimes it's nice to see space detectives do space detective work on the planet where they are needed. the superhero fatigue was very much a fatigue of over green screened scenarios and methodical storylines and this is a lovely departure from that

im a die hard GL fan, love the comics, hope to see more of the Geoff Johns run incorporated into future projects. that being said, I have loved this show since episode 1. every week has me salivating for more. it might not be the grandiose space adventure we all expected, but ive really enjoyed the story we got. very well written, great mystery

You can kinda tell they thought green lantern was kinda tarnished after the 2011 movie, I think they just tried to create the best show they could with the budget they have and still use it as a setup to greater green lantern stories, and potentially prequel projects.

I was talking with a friend about this, and there is an element of inevitable reality the show ran up against: the budget. Every glowing green thing or alien in prosthetics or fantastical location was going to cost money. It's pretty clear they wrote around those restrictions as best they could. I understand wanting all the flash, but the show would have to draw an actual mainstream audience to afford it. You can't get there on hardcore comics nerds.

I associate Lanterns with Andor in that they are two amazing shows that exist in a universe but can be appreciated by anyone, no matter their fandom. Lanterns is 💯 one of the best shows to stream and fandom needs to start appreciating a wider fan base.

I'm a big fan of how we're just dropped into this world. like "yeah this isn't anything new, superheros, aliens, all that shit has been around for years, keep up." it's very nice to not have a origin story for everyone and we just get what we need to know and let the stories and circumstances flesh them out further.
