@jackolopeandhuckleberry: This year has been especially active with bears on our property! When I stepped out on the porch tonight, I walked to the edge of the steps and right below the steps was a black bear. When he saw me, he ran off just a little bit, but I still had to deal with the chickens and some of the chickens were trapped on the porch steps and they were too afraid to move because they knew the bear was there so I had to walk the chickens back-and-forth and wish for the best. I will say I never step off the porch without my bear spray. And despite what a lot of people say on here, bear spray is the best thing to carry. ##appalachia##mountain##bear##chicken##forest
