I grew up in that same scenario. The parent who was causing the pain got protected and the person who was asking for protection against verbal abuse got punished. They labeled it as Talking Back. Now I'm married with 2 sons who will never know they're alcoholic grandmother. My sons will never be abused by an adult under the influence. This post is legit. 💜
