Birdie’s adoption application is open… again😅💕 LINK IN OUR BIO We opened Birdie’s application at the beginning of our journey with her, but since then SO much has changed. Her body has changed. Her care has changed. Our vision for her future has changed. You’ve now seen ALL of Birdie. The beautiful AND the hard, the adventures AND the extra care. Which is exactly why NOW feels right. You know what loving Birdie forever REALLY looks like🕊️ While Birdie heals, we have plenty of time to go through applications and figure out what her forever life will look like. And soon, but NOT a minute too soon, she’ll head HOME🥹 We aren’t looking for someone who loves Birdie despite her challenges, but someone who understands they’re simply part of loving her🐾 And you don’t need to know everything already, we can teach you Birdie and the million little things we’ve learned along the way. But we DO need someone with the time, consistency, flexibility and desire to learn. However, if you do have experience that makes you uniquely qualified to love Birdie forever, even better!! And just as importantly, we don’t want someone who will simply CARE for Birdie. We want someone who is going to let her LIVE🌞🌊 Birdie is obsessed with LIFE & we want a home that gives her independence and accessibility. A family that never looks at her disability as a reason to make her world smaller. One major change, Birdie’s forever home must be within a 12 hour drive of Lake Tahoe, CA. After everything her body has endured, we aren’t comfortable with cross country or international travel. We want to personally bring her home, help her settle in, & stay close enough to remain part of her life🥹 Birdie has become a light in SO many lives, and we want a family excited to help that light keep shining✨ She has inspired SO many people to look at disability and LIFE differently & we don’t want her impact to end when our story with her does. To every person who donated, prayed, cried, celebrated, and helped us get this girl HERE… we don’t take this decision lightly!! You helped give Birdie this future. Now Nick and I have the enormous responsibility of figuring out what that future will be💗
