@channelnewsasia: A homemade pesticide is helping one Bangladeshi farmer cut costs — and reduce her reliance on agricultural chemicals.

 When supplies of agricultural chemicals were disrupted by the Middle East crisis, Hanufa Begum turned to a homemade pesticide using ingredients including neem leaves, chillies, ginger, garlic and onions. She says making her own pesticide has lowered her costs, while some customers are even willing to pay more for produce grown without commercial fertilisers or pesticides.

 Bangladesh relies heavily on imported fertiliser, while gas shortages have also disrupted domestic fertiliser production — giving farmers like Hanufa more reason to find homegrown ways to keep their farms productive.

as a Bangladeshi It's so shame full to not knowing this I learned that from my grandpa...it's not a new thing actually it's the traditional thing that been used for ancient time of our country....bad that saddest thing is ... only few families remember this in "Tangail" (a district in Bangladesh)....... even now day 99% of people don't even know the traditional recipe.....but luckily my family know how to make anything from nature without any camical... and in my all siblings ( include cousin sister and brother) I am the only one who learned this From my grandpa...... and I am going spread this art towards the next generation...this is the face wash I made for my self 1 year ago and I haven't finished yet..
