I lived in Iowa for my whole life. Recently moved to Illinois. I was fooled and thought Iowa was always better. It's not even close. Iowa sucks all around besides my Hawkeyes

I don’t think it’s bad, 5th best to retire in recent study. Cost of living vs income, not bad. Factory worker I’m at 110k / yr. I live like a king.

I'm from Los Angeles and moved to Des Moines and I love it. Love Iowa. Tons to do and get involved in and the communities are overall very friendly and neighborly. Feel bad so many of you hate it so much :(

Iowa is an agricultural state, and grain prices have been low for the last couple years, and that hurts everyone in this state

David Lewies Moore :
Because we keep out sourcing rather than working on what we already have, and it shows with the stagnant of certain buildings and everything else and job structures, our trades are not functioning correctly to actually get more hired in a local basis they rather do more outsourcing
