My husband has started us on rabbits for meat. I made it very clear, I have no problem with it, but they have to have a good life while they are here. I'm building large cages for them. They get veggies, pets, & I talk to them every day. I very much believe U have to give respect to any animal that provides for u or it spoils the meat.

When I was a kid, my parents had a mini farm in our backyard we had about an acre of land. We had rabbit hutches with about 200 rabbits. One year right before Easter I heard my parents talking about what my mother was going to be making for Easter dinner. My dad instructed her to butcher half of the rabbits. That night about 2 AM I crept outside and let them all go. And Easter morning, just about everyone in the neighborhood had a bunny as a present in their yard. I had to save them.!! I couldn’t sleep at the thought that I was going to be made to eat my friends. 😭

This is why I have to give up meat. I cannot stand it anymore. All these animals suffer so much. It’s not fair. We don’t need meat we can do without it.

There is nothing on this planet, like winning the love and trust of a prey animal and one that flops for you….makes my heart so happy for both of you. My rabbit loves me most of all, but he has a serious soft spot for my daughter and sometimes the cat, he only flops for me 🥰 thank you for giving him this life.

The BEST rat I ever owned I got from the pet store as a feeder rat for snakes. I think they know what we're saving them from and they give that love and energy right back
