ابو حسين :
To everyone with a voice that is heard—everyone with the power to drive change for women in Iraq and make a real impact—please, help my voice reach women's rights organizations.
Imagine being born into a life that feels like a prison. Imagine being taught that your entire existence must revolve around a husband and a child—that your worth is defined by how well you please them, how silently you endure the unbearable, and how much of yourself you are willing to sacrifice.
And then, the very child to whom you dedicated your life might be torn away from you.
In my country, women are granted only a very narrow space to exist as human beings. We are expected to be mothers, wives, and mere complements to others before we are ever allowed to be individuals with our own dreams, voices, and private lives.
And now, even the very breath of life can be snatched from us.
How much suffering must women endure before the world listens to us?
Girls are confined to their homes, And they are forced to wear the hijab and the niqab, denied the opportunity to work, and some are even prevented from attending school. Many are subjected to harassment, while thousands, some as young as nine, have been forced into marriage against their will and subjected to abuse. Please, hear our voices. Please, help make our existence visible. I hope for a future where Iraqi women no longer vanish behind laws, traditions, and systems that were never built to protect them.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
