@livingliverpooltour: If you’ve ever wondered where The Pool in Liverpool is? You’ve probably walked on it hundreds of times! Originally the Mersey had an inland creek, The Pool, that became the original dock - before even the Old Dock was built. Paradise Street through Whitechapel and beyond were a waterway and life sprung up around it. The pool also marked a natural boundary between the old town and the growing expanse of Liverpool as the population grew.
